Progress in Larchmont
Three months after ground-breaking, the site work on our Larchmont, NY, project is progressing toward set day. We pride ourselves on being able to handle difficult sites, and this particular site presented plenty of challenges. The foundation itself had to be chipped, cut, and eventually air-drilled into the solid granite bedrock peaking through to the surface throughout the site. The special static conditions of the house then required up to 18″ thick cast concrete foundation walls and pocketed steel I-beams for the garage openings and a hybrid metal structure for the house itself. And the extensive storm-water management program requires eleven underground storage and metered discharge tanks, herbaceous pre-treatment, and bio-retention planters.
Please watch for regular posts of this project as it quickly progresses in the coming weeks.
